Just saw a post on the Doublegun website advising that the Southern has been cancelled. What the ****** is going on here?

We need to stamp out the the brush fires before they become blazing infernos.

Can Somebody get an up-to-the-moment quote from Bill?

It seems that "Mark" is making a statement representing Bill Kempffler.

There is no such announcement on the Deep River website as of 1 minute ago.

I received a vendor's e-mail from Mary Kempffer @ 3:56PM - yes, it is cancelled.

Dean Romig

Thanks Kevin.

The LACA did also.
This is not a drill.

And it’s not a dress rehearsal either.

I talked to Bill this morning and it was still on. Then Mary sent an email saying it was canceled. The travel ban affects overseas vendors and then the NC governor restricted large public gatherings. Bill and Mary had no choice.

They can cancel whatever they want but I'm going to shoot those four days at Drakes Landing. I've been looking forward to this for months and won't let a virus stop me from having a good time.

Rich, Stay safe traveling, and good luck finding a place to eat, since I am an old fart and they tell me I am at high risk I am staying put although with a good supply of wine and old bourbon whiskey, this will pass, and we will be stronger for it, Gary

Rich Anderson

Thanks Gary. We will be staying at a friends house so we can cook meals. I have three criteria as far as being a prime candidate for the virus but life is short and it doesn't scare me. For the first time in my life I have medication and would be considered uninsurable

That is great for you. Please do not transmit this to anyone else due to your response to this very serious threat to our population. You are the problem. Stay at home so you are not responsible for a death in a family. This is real.

Even if it means taking others down with you:shock:

I'm NOT sick and Drakes is open for business as usual. There is still a month to go and things can change for the better. One must remain positive.

Dean, in a way it is social distancing, drive down stay at a friends house, shoot in an open air area, go back to the same house with the same people, shoot for the four days and then drive back home where you are again isolated again. So there really is not a lot of interaction with a lot of people, probably less then if you had to go to the drug store to pickup something and a hell of a lot less then going to pickup some grocery's.

My strategy now is to stay away from people in the at risk category

I hesitate to point out that anyone who doesn't have COVID-19 is at risk to contract it...!

How many rounds can I shoot for a double roll of Angel Soft toilet paper?

John Campbell

Don't know about that, but this house across town hit the jackpot! The appraisal just went
up to $885,000!

When I was single, a roll of toilet paper would last me a year. Now that I am married, a jumbo pack from Sam's lasts a few weeks at best.

Audrey gave her dad an 18 pack for his birthday yesterday.

Who remembers the gag about folding one square of TP twice, and tearing off the corner?

Who remembers the gag about folding one square of TP twice, and tearing off the corner?

Yes, the torn-off corner is used to clean under the fingernail.

What do you mean "gag"?:)

John Dallas
03-24-2020, 04:46 PM
OK. Here we go. It's very easy to demonstrate, but will take a while for me to fat finger the answer,
If you take a sheet of TP, and fold it twice so it is again a square, then tear off the double-folded corner, open the sheet, and you now have the TP sheet with a hole in the middle. Place your finger thru the hole, and proceed to clean yourself using your finger. Wrap the TP around your finger to clean it off. Use the torn off square to clean your fingernail. Whew!

Very sadly, toilet paper is about where the Southern this year has gone.

As I sat in front of my computer totally bored, I decided to check the weather in Sanford, NC for the dates of the Southern.
Rain-Rain-Rain-Rain. But, I still would have rather have been there.

We've shot there when it rained, rained, rained, rained... but at least we were there.

It dampened our powder but not our spirits.

I guess you'll have to go to the virtual southern http://www.delaneyandsons.com/virtual-southern. Get your favorite beverage and watch a few videos. They've only posted the first two days.
