Has anyone seen a top strap like this on any Parker?

We have seen only a couple of similar top tang extensions that were welded on, shaped and engraved appropriately.

That gun appears to have been restocked as well, judging by the altered contour of the sides of the tang.

Another example of someone trying to improve on something that did not need improving.

I thought it was odd, interesting that someone would extend the top strap.

A stock breaks from abuse/neglect. The owner thinks it broke due to poor design somehow. So they end up lengthening tangs and adding screws to actions/trigger guards. In an attempt to hold together the repaired stock better. Or to prevent the new stock they make for it from breaking. Often they end up failing again.

I cannot tell you how many items I have seen second screws added to pistol grip trigger guards in an attempt to “fix” a problem that wasn't there to start with.
