What is the proper/best way to put a gun back on face? Is it replacing the pin or having it welded up and worked back down. Pro's and cons. What would be the cost?
The gun is a GH O frame 16, Damascus 77340.

Unless you are a professional double gunsmith, the proper way to put it back on face is to pack it up and send it to Kirk Merrington, Del Grego or Bachelder's.

There are too many variables for an amateur to deal with...

The roll pin is what needs to be replaced. I think DelGrego has a drawer full of them. Being a cheapskate, I snip off a piece of brass shim with scissors, wrap it around a pencil and fit it to the roll joint.

Check with Brian Dudley. He has oversized replacement roll pins.

I can second that. Recently used one that worked fabulously.

Yep,Brians roll joints are the way to go ...there's still some tedious work to it ,but its the best way for a Parker if the wear is at that point

I use to do that on an old Fox I owned. Harry, I may be a bigger cheapskate, I coat the barrel hook with the yellow Super T glue. Gives it the 1000th or 2 needed to snug up and put the barrels back on face. Once retired, I'll have time to do it correctly.
