A.P. Curtis invented the L.C. Smith ‘Curtis fore end fastener’ and worked for the HAC from 1899 – 1917; as plant superintendent during the last seven years of his employment. After WWI, he worked at Winchester, Ithaca, Iver Johnson, and Marlin. He returned to Fulton in 1940 and was the general manager of HAC until his death in 1941.
He was a prolific writer. Forty one of his articles were published from 1909 to 1940. He also authored America’s Double Hammerless Shotguns.

I believe there is also an Ithaca Gun Co. version out there somewhere. The Lefever version has been floating around for sale at about 5 times its value for some time.

Bob, do you recall the asking price for the Lefever try-gun?

I have owned my Parker Curtis try gun for about 40 years and enjoy it "too much". A Lefever Curtis gun was shown to me at the Southern some years ago, and kind of offered to me at a higher than reasonable price. I would still be interested at a more reasonable price.

I don't remember specifically, but it was well over $10,000. I have to agree with Bill Murphy.

William Larkin Moore has a Ithaca SBT Try Gun in their store. Not sure if it is for sale?

A Curtis-Ithaca single barrel has been pictured in several publications, is an important collector gun, but doesn't seem to bring much attention when offered for sale. Maybe it's because it's a single barrel and a Flues at that.
