Very sound little 20 triple bite with nitro proofs. Anyone have any experience with these? 5 pounds 11 oz 26” cyl/cyl and a quick pointer.

sweet little gun
all i could find about him is "William Sumner was a gunmaker in Liverpool, England, from about 1858 to 1890" -
looks like a London reproof
and I agree with Harold - it deserves to be taken out for quail or grouse/woodcock over a setter

According to Nigel Brown's British Gunmakers, William Sumners was at 219 Oliver St, Birkenhead, Liverpool, from 1858-60, 48 Oldhall St. c. 1874--78, and 48 & 50 Old Hall st. c. 1883-90.
This very finely done side-plated A&D boxlock was nitro proofed in Birmingham between 1954 and 1989. It does have Anson's intercepting safety sears as well.
I'd shoot it with RST light loads, just for the comfort factor.

Scott received the check. That is a fine little SXS reminds me of the false sideplates Charles Hellis guns some of them very light. I would shoot RST's lightest loads and enjoy. Good luck with this wand!!!
