My son Harry really enjoys rifles and the two of us enjoy shooting them together.

Here is his target. 100 yards with a 22 rifle. First time shooting 100 yards

I can't even see a hundred yards! Great shooting! That bear is dead.

He had some help with a scope.

I am still proud!

Julia asked him what he wanted from Santa and he replied "a Tommy gun"

Not gonna happen unfortunately

I want a Tommy Gun too. It will cost more than a good Parker. How can we get into one of those small southern sheriff's offices, Mills?

Mills when I was about 15 years old a buddy of mine in high school invited me to go to a FBI shooting range in San Francisco California, his father was a FBI agent. We got to shoot .38 revolvers a sniper rifle and then they brought out a Thompson sub machine gun in its case and a drum magazine they let us shoot ten rounds each. It was a very special experience that I will remember forever.

Ken, that sounds like a lot of fun

Last year I went to a business-sponsored 'machine gun shoot' in Denver... at an indoor range, if you can believe that. You could shoot whatever you wanted as much as you wanted; all the ammo was provided. I got to shoot some pistols and two full-autos, a 9mm sub-machine gun and a 5.56mm SAW. Both were big fun, but the noise level indoor seriously challenged any amount of hearing protection you could stack in, on and around your ears. I wouldn't do it again. My conclusion from the experience: I want a SAW for the coming zombie apocolypse!!

Had a chance to shoot a 9mm full automatic Glock. Ridiculous. The first shot was on target - the rest were in the ceiling. Virtually impossible to shoot individual shots. Touch the trigger, and the whole magazine was emptied

Shot a Thompson at a local club's machine gun shoot( since outlawed in the PRMA) and found it very easy to control 2 and 3 shot bursts, even single was possible. Had always wanted to shoot one and will not get the chance again. Mills get one for the lad.

As expensive as Thompsons are today, tomorrow they will be more expensive.

Moved Harry up to a Whitney 32 caliber lever action. Not a big step but more for confidence building than anything.
