Hard to believe we have gathered together since NYD 2009 and it's time to think about a NYD shoot for 2020.
Weather permitting I will open the shotgun shack at Major Waldron's Sportsman Association on Rt9 in Barrington NH around 730AM. Trap and Skeet shooting will start at 9AM. I am going to look into the possibility of having another club member open the 5 stand course for a short time, no guarantee I can make this happen but I will try. Cost per round of Trap or Skeet is $5.
I am hoping that many returning participants will bring us good things to eat for lunch again.
After lunch if the crowd is willing we can shoot a 27 yard Elimination and 10ga backing up a smaller gauge 27 yard Protection.
The club is located at 26 Route 9 Barrington NH. Directions and other information about the club can be found here: https://majorwaldron.com/

I have been looking forward to it since Jan. 2 2019, will bring 2 dozen donuts and a lasagna if the boss will agree. Was going to pm Pete this morning, no need now. Thank you Pete.

Yaaay Pete - You always come through for us!
I'll be there for certain and will bring some kind of goodies to eat for all.

Thanks, Pete for organizing this again, and Scott for your continued help setting up.
I plan to be there and to bring chopped salad vegetables again, and a choice of dressings.

If it weren't a 19 1/2 hour drive, I'd be there too. Hope y'all have a great time.

John, you could send your guns ahead and fly in to Boston. I could meet you at the airport and you could stay at my house... or you could grab a rental car and hotel... your choice.
Have you ever been really cold?.... come to New England at the end of December/first of January...:whistle:

Dean: However, it doesn't necessarily mean Shackelton Expedition conditions.

Great pictures Russ - especially that of Cam at the ready at station 1.
But the one of "The Frosty Shooters" is a great one.... I thought we had more shooters than that...?

Mr. Flanders should fly down, he would enjoy the respite from a Fairbanks winter. All is relative to one's current situation.

Dean:
You remember correctly; we did have more participants; and side-by-sides, too -- hammer; hammerless; safe-queen; shooter-grade; black powder; some For Sale and others of the "from my cold, dead hands" category.
I think it was one of those "herding cats" situations, when it was time to take the "Group Picture". Factor in that the Range Shack always has heat.

I wish I was able to make it, but NYD on a Wednesday makes it difficult for work and travel, unfortunately. I hope the weather works out well for it!

One my favorites from the first NYD shoot :)
That’s when you bagged me stealing the forend off of John Dunkle’s beautiful little 20 gauge Damascus DH. I was wearing Bob Fabian’s extra hat but the brim was so long and floppy that I couldn’t shoot with it so I had it on backwards....
That was a great day!!

Christmas is behind us and less than a week to go to NYD. Weather looks good with no snow between now and NYD. Weather for NYD looks good for traveling and shooting. Forecast is currently for partly sunny, 40 deg and light wind.
So who's coming, who is bringing food and who is bringing a 10 gauge?

I will be there with the 10. Will bring a lasagna, some Italian bread, plates and forks if we have a working oven? Some donuts for early arrivals, should I bring some coffee for the coffee maker? Weather seems too good.

I can bring my 10 ga. Grade 3 hammer gun if somebody wants to shoot it but I don’t have any ammo for it.
PS If you shoot black powder in my gun - you’re cleaning it...:bigbye:

I will be there with a big pot of venison stew. Deb gets credit for making it, I just shoot them.🙂

Something always seems to come up and I have yet to be able to make it to this shoot. And I would have brought a 10 gauge!
Have a great shoot and I will try and make it next year.

I’m going to try but the wx is starting to look sketchy here, 90 miles to the west, with an inch of ice possible in the forecast for Monday and Tuesday. :cuss:

I will be there with the usual lasagna....I will bring the Remington 10 gauge CE and the EM Riley 10 as well. Might even load up some spreader loads for the big guns and try them at skeet? A 12 or two will make the trip too....

I will cancel my lasagna and bring a loaf of Italian bread to go with Bob's lasagna.

New England??? It was -65F in Manley Hot Springs 75mi west of Fairbanks and in the -50's in villages in western and S-western Ak yesterday! Coldest we've had in a while. Not bad here, -28F yesterday and -13 and snowing today. Feels like -30 out there with this humidity. I sure could 'endure' a respite from this weather Daniel!

Good news, I just got a call from a club member, Dr. Erik Bakke has agreed to come to the club on NYD and setup and run the Five Stand in the morning. He loves to shoot it and can give instruction to anyone who hasn't done it and wants to try it. The non-member price for a 25 bird round is a little more than trap and skeet at $7. I told Erik we would feed him for his effort. PS. Trap and Skeet are still $5 a round.

There have been many years since I had an inclanation to shoot clay targets with six inches or so of snow on the ground ! Now part of that might be us not getting huge amounts of snow very often in central Virginia . But looks like a good time was had !

The event organizer I believe was the only one there who took pictures, thus there are none of him taken today at Major Waldron's.
So, here is one of Pete L., taken by Kathy G. at last years New Years Day shoot.
Thank you Pete for running this again, and Scott K. for assisting.

Looks like fun and good food. After seeing the pics I am even more thankful for the sunny 48 degree weather we had to shoot in. The turn out was off the chart.
