I've noticed a couple of small variations on the checkered butts on a couple of V grade Skeet guns I've seen recently. Does anyone have any photos of checkered butts on the lower grade skeet guns that they can share?

Josh,
The first picture shows the checkered butt of a 20 gauge VHE skeet gun (239xxx). The second picture can be seen on Stephen Cobbs website of a 16 gauge V grade skeet.

Josh, I have both patterns in my collection of V grade skeet guns.

Interesting. I wonder if they vary by serial number and if we should consider a Parkers found entry?

Notice the two plugs in the butt of the gun in the top picture.

There is a picture of a DHE checkered butt around p142 in EDM's "Parker- theOld Reliable" tome.

If I knew how to post a picture, I would post the serial number along with the picture. I have seen two or more variations of checkered butts on Parkers, skeet guns as well as the odd checkered butt gun that is not on a skeet gun. This thread reminds me that I need to complete my skeet gun collection. I have a couple of the "hard ones". I was foolishly thinking that I didn't need any more Parkers. Silly me.

Asa's second picture looks like Remington checkering too... just a different design from the first.
Anyone know the serial number of that gun from Stephen Cobb's site?
