Steve Barnett has a “BHE” .410 on his website. It has D grade engraving and forearm style checkering. The buttstock does have higher grade checkering and carving. Possibly this gun has been on his website previously?

I just went on his website and only saw 3 Parker .410’s and none were BHE’s

Interesting repro https://www.gunsinternational.com/guns-for-sale-online/shotguns/parker-shotguns-reproduction/parker-reproduction-bhe-410.cfm?gun_id=101305276. It certainly looks like D grade engraving with a B grade stock. Unfortunately, there is no picture of the water table.

Could this possibly be BHE .410-0052 that we discussed here? It maybe deja vu all over again!

http://parkerguns.org/forums/showthread.php?t=23390

It's unlikely that it is BHE .410-0052, since the pic I posted in the referenced thread is shown in its case; this latest Barnett listing says there is no case. If it is not BHE .410-0052, to my knowledge, it is the 3rd BHE with DHE-style engraving built on the 0000-frame that has come to light.

The 1st .410 0000-frame BHE/DHE we discussed was in this thread: http://parkerguns.org/forums/showthread.php?t=12472

Bill, would you please explain the difference between the Parker Reproduction D-grade forearm style checkering of the Barnett offered gun and that of a Repro B-grade forearm style checkering?

Greg... I stand to be corrected on the forearm checkering between the D and B.
Upon closer inspection there does not appear to be a difference. For some reason I had the B and A1’s confused.

Thanks Bill. Just yesterday I had an appointment with an optometrist for a vision test, for a while there you had me thinking about seeking a second opinion. :)

Out of curiosity I contacted Steve Barnett to find out if this offering could possibly be B .410-0052. It is not, nor is it B .410-0045 as that gun had a beavertail forend.

So we now know that this Parker Reproduction, a .410 4/0-frame B-grade with D-style engraving is the 3rd such gun to come to light. Incidently, all three of these BHE/DHE-engraved 4/0-frame little jewels have B-grade engraving applied to their toplevers.

A couple of years ago Geoffroy Gournet shared with me that at the end of PR production a few B grade guns had not finished being engraved in Japan and when shipped to the USA he finished the necessary engraving. Some of these were the floor plates and that is why we occasionally see different engraving scenes in contrast to the standard Japanese B grade ones. He possibly may have done some top lever engraving, too. Like the Meriden Parkers never say never! 😊

What a great gun ! I love the contour bead on the breech and the extra profiling on the top lever beautiful wood too. I read this thread yesterday and before I had finished clicking on the GI link it had been marked sold ! I beat myself up today stacking firewood so as not to torment myself and kept the weeping & gnashing of teeth to a minimum. Thanks for all your input. Best, Paul So what did the gun sell for since all I saw was a big SOLD

Paul,

I'm not sure of the sale price. If my memory hasn't failed, they were asking $25K for the gun.
