The act of opening it fully will recock it. If it doesn't cock by opening it fully, a part or parts are missing in the cocking mechanism.

So it being snapped while apart has nothing to do with it

If you cocked the gun when you opened it originally that part must be OK. Put the barrels back on the gun with for-end and then open and close it to re-cock.

If you fired it ( dropped the hammers ) with the barrels off, simply put the gun back together and open it.

Also odd there are no gauge or choke markings on the barrels

Normal for Parkers before Remington take over.

Welcome to the forum, as you can see there are lots of great guys ready to offer there expertise. Always room for one more to come over to the good side, especially a Winchester pre-64 collector, good credentials there. Congrats on your 20 ga., a great start but like some many good things, you can have just one!

Send pics and they can give you some ideas. You will enjoy Parkers and everyone wants another 20 gauge. Excuse the auto-correct on my message, what I meant to say was you can't own just one!

Toby, be careful when reassembling your gun as the serialization book shows it as originally being a VHE 20 Ga. with ejectors and 26" barrels.
The ejectors would need to be cocked before the forend is replaced to prevent forcing them on the frame and possibly damaging the gun. They cock separately from the hammers and are one of the more fragile parts of a small bore Parker.

Toby, if you go to the PGCA Home page and click on the FAQs section, then select Topic #7: I can"t get my forend back on in the Parker Main. and Repair list, there are pictures and a description how to do this. HTH FV.

It appears that the ejector mechanism in the frame has been removed. We don’t see the ejector rods protruding from those two holes in the rounded knuckle of the frame like they should.

No. These are the tips of ejector part No. 84, "Ejector plunger pin and mainspring plunger"
75797
An extractor gun frame won't have the holes for the Ejector Plunger pin

So I do not have and ejector receiver are the barrels ejector I hope I’m not in this gun to deep to get it where it shoots anyone know a direction to buying a complete for end?thanks for all y’all answers

Again no. You have an ejector frame and ejector barrels. Holes for the Ejector Plunger Pins --

I don't own an ejector Parker. Your pictures shows the gun in the fired condition. Do the pins protrude when the gun is cocked?
Toby Espy

I see. no my pins do not come out with barrels on the pins are in there I can't stick a pin in hole its is in fired condition would they only come out in cocked position I can't get it to cock I'm assuming due to for end

You seem to be doing your best to avoid sending us a picture of the front of the receiver and the back end of the forend, and serial number of forend. We will be waiting with more information for you. Nice VHE 20, needs cleaning.

It is an ejector gun that is missing the forend assembly. It must have gotten lost at some point. Locating a complete ejector forend for your gun can be a tall order. And would not be cheap. I will usually ask $500-700 for such an animal in good working order. And additional fitting if needed will increase the expense.
The gun CAN be converted to an extractor gun easier from a parts standpoint, but having someone do it and do it right could cost the same amount of money.

If the gun were all together in this condition what would be a round about value wondering if I'm to deep for just what I have now

How about we do this the easier way and you tell what you have into it and someone can tell you of they think you are buried off the bat or not. ?

There was a total of 4 guns I bought,,,,, the parker is one,,,,winchester 62 which is mostly a parts gun,,,,remo mauser 16 gauge,,, and a Winchester 250 22 lever gun I gave 1000 for all 4 I could have bought the parker by itself for 700 but chose to buy all 4 to help soften the parker price
Brian Dudley

hard to say. Parts value of what you have there is better than what you have into it. But as a fixer upper, you are kind of getting into a break even scenario depending on how you go about doing it.
Toby Espy
09-02-2019, 08:57 PM
Yes that's where I'm at is it going to cost me more to get it right than the guns worth I'm going back to the man I got it from and do some more digging to see if I can find the for end

"Maybe he can find the forend" is the best option. Nothing in your purchase can get you to $1000 unless you get the Parker running.

Toby, just so you know, you can cock the gun in this way:
1. install the barrels onto the receiver.
2. use your finger or whatever to push in the pin that protrudes out from the radius of the receiver where the forearm would normally fit and hold it down.
3. with your other hand hold the gun as you would usually do and push the top lever to the right until he barrels open a bit.
4. Now you can stop pushing the pin and grasp the barrels and tilt them downward as if you were opening the gun.
This will cock your hammers.
From here you can close the barrels as usual. Do Not pivot the top lever again unless you are holding on to the barrels as they will fall off the action when the forearm is not on.
I hope this helps!

You're doing good. If it was not a 20, and an ejector gun, it would be a tougher task on staying out of trouble on cost. I hope you can find that fore end.

They’re out there.
I’ve had a few of them in the past and sold them because I really didn’t have a need for them. There are likely a few people who have an orphaned ejector forend for an 0-frame who don’t really have a need for it, so keep asking and looking.

It's a long shot, but Steve Barnett had one a year or so ago.
