I am looking to do a survey of VH 10 gauges and compile a list of them for a Parker Pages article. I have one that is not in the book or surviving records. I find 8 in the book. The Parker Story shows there were 20 made.

Who else has one and is there a list of the 20 found by the Parker Story authors?

Feel free to PM me.

Privacy will be respected, of course. I am not giving names out to God even. What I hope to do is get a list of serial numbers, barrel lengths and any special features/ information.

Here is a pic of mine since I know everyone likes photos

Keep in mind that The lists in TPS are statistically extrapolated to compensate for missing records. So, the figure of 20 may not be accurate. So don't hold out if you only account for 15 or something like that.

There are many numbers missing from the books in the steel barrel ten gauge era. Mills, I sent a correction to my original PM.

I did not find out much more but watch Parker Pages for a complete report on findings.

And additional information will be added as it comes in to Mills before publication.

Mills, I found another one. It is #229,768. It was on a list of leftover guns at the Remington factory along with #235,614 that is already on the list in Parker Pages. Reply to this post so I don't have to PM you with this number. They were both listed as VH guns. You have listed 235,614 as a VHE. The factory list could be wrong.

Bill, Is 229768 a 30 inch or 32 or some other length or do you know? Thanks

Looking forward to your article. I had not realized just how few 10 gauge Steel barrel hammerless Parker’s were made in all grades.
It will be interesting to see how many VH and VHE steel barrel guns are documented verses how many are in the records.
My GHE 10 with 36” barrels for example is not listed and actually no 36” Steel barrel GH guns are listed.

Phil,
Where in the heck do you find all these cool guns in Arizona? I am in quartzsite Arizona now for the month of January and would like to know your secret.

Mills, I am sure 229,768 is a 32" gun.

No real secret I am good friends and hunt with the owner of the best used gun shop in Arizona.
That and friends that call me when they see something they think I would like.
Less competition for SXS out west yet lots of guns have come out here with the influx of retirees.
Still I have never found a steel barrel 10 gauge VH.

Over the weekend, a member called about another one not on the list. From the 236000 sn range and is a magnum with ejectors and 32 inch barrels.

Total count now stands at 12 VH(E) 10's
