This early 30" 1 frame 12g. GH was in overall pretty good shape, but it was fitted with a rather poor replacement stock. The owner of it liked how the gun fit, but wanted a proper stock put on the gun.

A new stock was made from a very attractive piece of American Walnut. And the original forend was refinished. Original grip cap and screw was reused. A new buttplate and buttplate screws were installed. New trigger plate screws were also fitted and engraved to help clean the gun up.

The barrels had been refinished years ago. I believe by Dale.

Enjoy some photos of the product.

The figure on that stock looks like the sun shining through water. Just beautiful! Nice job Brian.

Looks good. I like the engraving of the butt plate screws to match those of the floor plate. I am curious, would that be typical of the grade or an added embellishment?

Very nice Brian. To my eye, you have matched the G grade wood from that period. I always admired the great wood on the G's/ Grade 2 guns.

Yes, G grade guns had their buttplate screws engraved.

Brian once again I think the wood sets the bar for a handsome gun and you have done just that!!!! Beautiful job and I bet the owner is most pleased. Applaud for your efforts.
