Has anybody seen or known of a 20 ga. repro with 28" barrels that were factory choked to IC & Mod? I know 12 ga. was but I don't believe I've ever seen a 20.

I can’t say I’ve seen one or heard of one but I know it must be possible. I once owned a 20 gauge Repro with 28” barrels choked and stamped Q1 & Q2.

I cannot recall ever seeing a 20-ga. w/28" bbls. factory choked IC/M, nor can I recall ever seeing a 12-ga. w/28" bbls. factory choked Q1/Q2.

Never say never. I have a set of 28" 20ga. barrels marked Imp cyl and mod.
It is a two barrel set with 16ga. Krieghoff 28" barrels marked ic and mod. The constriction measures .008 in the right barrel and .015 in the left. I have shot a round of sporting clays with each barrel, but it is a closet queen.

Mine was a two-barrel set as well.

Well I'll be. Now I have an excuse to keep looking. Thanks, I think!

In the recent Poulin spring auction there was a Parker Reproduction 20/16 bi-gauge set (Lot # 1090) that had the 20-ga. set of barrels listed as being 28" long and choked IC/M. I called Poulin's on the listing and spoke with one of their representatives who told me he has seen a few of these 20/16 sets with both 20 and 16 barrel sets 28" long and having the 20-ga. set stamped IC/M. I asked if they'd take a pic of the stamps and send it to me, which they did and they also added it to their description. After receiving the pic I decided to pass on bidding because the stamps just didn't look original to my eyes. Maybe I was wrong, what do you think? Here's the pic:

Those stamps are identical to the stamps on my set.

Maybe a better pic with 16 and 20ga barrels. It's been a learning day.

Just by a quick glance, James' set shows "IMP. CYL" whereas the photo Greg posted does not seem to have a period after IMP and before CYL

Maybe it's just not showing up well on my computer?

Greg, your photo does seem to indicate rubbing of some sort over the legends, and James' water-tables appear to be sans bluing. Wonder if Regeant used MOD/FULL barrels as a basis to provide customers with IC/MOD brls upon request in order to accommodate client's desire for that choking at that length w/out creating another category of stock? I have a set of 28" 20ga Q1/Q2 barrels..seems I should have a close look to see if anything seems out of order, like the stamps were altered in any way, but I don't recall anything out of the ordinary from memory.

Not the best photo's but here's a few shots of the Q1/Q2 markings on my 20ga brls for posterity. They look clean to me.

I think if you had any connections with the three major sellers or the Skues folks you get special options of sort by asking. A few 28 gauge guns had 28" Q1/Q2 barrel sets. I passed up a consecutive SN set a few years back from Ohio dealer Fur-Fin and Feather, I bought the A1 spl. 20 they also had. All of the guns had two triggers. Wish I could have bought all three, the price was 24K.....)-: I opted for the A1 only since so few had DT. I still own the A1, Never have seen anymore 28" 28-s choked that way since. SXS Ohio

So, the question begs. Kenny (and others), setting aside affordability for a moment while focusing in on practicality: if presented with the opportunity to acquire a sequential set of Repro’s (both 28ga I presume?), and at least one of them equipped with a very rare set of 28” Q1/Q2 barrels, both guns DT no less. Plus, an A1 DT 20ga that speaks to you for 24K, are you a buyer of the whole kit, today?

Today I would love to have one of the 28 guns mentioned....(practical) they were a matched pair as I remember, I could not buy just the one you had to buy them both. Wish I would have now....)-: About the chokes....while Q1/Q2 is fine for close shooting of smaller birds. I would prefer Q1 and tight mod for that follow up shot in the grouse woods. If I ever run across a lone set of PR 28" 28ga barrels I will get the chokes reworked to them specs and add them to my 410/28/28 three barrels set below...……. SXS Ohio

I understand that there were 50 20ga.and 50 28ga guns built with 28" IC/Mod barrels. I have sold 10 or 12 of them over the years.I have seen a few of both gauges with 28" quail1 and 2 barrels, but don't have any idea how many were produced.
