Fred Everett was an artist from Binghamton NY that did many covers for Outdoor Life and the PA Game Commission. I just bought this oil painting which was used for a 1930's Outdoor Life Cover.

That’s a great painting Craig - you’re a lucky guy to have found it!
Fred Everett was a prolific illustrator and illustrated some of our favorite books abd magazine articles. He wrote and illustrated two of his own books, “Fun With Game Birds” and “Fun With Trout”. He was planning a third book, Fun With Bird Dogs” but suffered an untimely death before he could complete it.
One of our PGCA members, Legh Higgins, recently bought a wonderful original painting by Everett of a ruffed grouse in “full strut” which was used as an illustration in “Fun With Game Birds”.

The painting was in a decoy auction recently in St Charles Ill I attended. I picked it up for a bargain basement price, the framing is worth more than what I paid for the painting. Anyhow, another Everett painting of two flushing pheasant sold last weekend by Heritage Auctions in Dallas, I was seriously outbid. I really like his work.

Do you have his books Craig?
They are very well written, are light and humorous and it is very obvious that he loves the outdoor pursuits.
