Was curious to see if there were any tips or tricks that could be used to cover up this blend? For some reason a square section was removed and repaired I’m hoping to blend in the repair.

Trevellion,in Shotgun Technica discusses a butt transplant involving the stock from the checkering back using a tennon machined at the grip and fitted to the butt piece transplant. Checkering is slightly extended to cover the glue line.

A butt transplant would be overkill for this repair. A talented wood person should be able to remove the repair and start over with better joining.

Mark Larson is the guy to go for this kind of blending/finishing. Mark is a true artist that can make the repair on your gun almost invisible.
