When we see dilapidated and abandoned homesteads like that across the plains in our travels Kathy has often said... "There are so many shattered dreams out there."

The only structure standing on dad's place when he bought it was a one room sharecropper cabin. Went through several carpenters before we found one who agreed to restore it. That carpenter was rewarded with the job of building their house later.

Phil,

I really like the stone homesteads and buildings in KS. Post rock country is definitely a place to see.

Great picture of times past.
But, what are the rails of that fence made of?
It looks like highway guardrail.
