Can someone help me with the top lever position of listing 101149897 and no mention of it

Don't you just love it... The seller is asking two times what the gun should ever be worth and does not even mention a major issue with the gun. Buyers really need to be on their toes these days.

The top lever has been bent or altered for some odd reason.

no view from the top, but it looks to me like it has been bent at the middle

That is a scary one

I sent the seller a note telling them that they should describe that the top lever has been severely altered. They said "that is why we provide several photos of the item."

My reply to that was less than friendly.

Hey... its Cabelas. They must know better...

What idiots. . . . Asking questions often just leads to frustration

Not sure which is more surprising from this seller. The response itself or the fact that they actually responded.

Someone can’t describe a gun honestly.
What’s up with the price at .66 cents??

Guys - Guys... that's a beautiful example of the extremely rare reverse fishtail. I'm gonna bid so high I'll scare everybody else away.

The .66 cents is Cabela's internal policy pricing code for a gun that has been in inventory a long time and they want to move it at basically the cost they have in it. If the price has .99 cents it's a fairly new inventoried gun. The next code I believe is .86 cents for one they've had a while. Then it goes to .66 cents when they want it gone. I've found that even though they want it gone, it doesn't mean they will deal any further if the price ends is .66

When I was at the Gun Library I got a M21 16ga vent rib grade 5 skeet gun shipped to me from another store. It was proven that this was an upgraded gun and was sold as original for like $17K if memory serves. This was in 2005. Well they had to return the money to the buyer so now they have 17K into it and they wouldn't budge an inch on the price. The gun was transferred from one store to another and as soon as I could I moved it to the grand opening of another store. Sometimes they barter sometimes not this was a case of no way in hell.

Description: "Opening lever far to the left."

Must have worn in that way.

Well, if they are desprate to sell and their price is still that high, then this gun will be taken to the grave. But, i have seen people pay that for worse.

The reply i got

Good morning,
Yes the opening lever is bent to the left side of the gun. What I have been told, the previous owner had some damage to his thumb and couldn’t push the lever far enough to open, so he had it bent to fit him.

Well there you have it...it's now "a well used custom gun with known provenance."

A side question if I may...is a replacement top lever for this gun readily available?

Top levers are all individually fitted to each gun. Once from another gun would be able to be installed and to function, but may not fit perfectly from a cosmetic standpoint. It would be better to just get that one bent back to where it should be.
