This was my grandfathers gun. Was passed down to me, from the serial # I get a date of 1902. But am having a hard time with the rest of it. Here are some pictures hopefully it helps

It has been poorly restocked and the frame and barrels blued.

With the things that Dean mentions above, the gun has very little actual value betond being a family heirloom for yourself.

The gun is a VH grade on a 2 frame. I assume 12g

Josef,

We have a book that list many of the Parkers that were made. Unfortunately the serial number for your grandfathers Parker is not listed. If it had been listed I could have told you how it came from the factory, i.e. barrel length, gauge, type of steel used for the barrels. It is an interesting alteration for a left handed shooter. Again it has too many warts for a collector. They include buggered screws, blued barrels and receiver, replacement stock, and probably things we can not see. I would value the gun at $500 tops.

Kindest,
Harry

Thank for the info guys. That’s kind of what I was figuring since I could find nothing else out there that had the same look.

An interesting harmful modification of a VH grade gun results in a shotgun, if otherwise functional without any other problems, in a gun worth from $200 to $300. If the barrels are undamaged and unaltered, the gun may be worth $400. We certainly enjoyed looking at this gun.

Looks as if the stock maker got tired of checkering the right side and just quit on the left. Enough wood left on that stock for a second gun! Must have been trying to prevent a cracked stock head on the new one.

However , for some it is not always easy to get one of grandpa's guns. In such cases it would be priceless and still probably capable of taking a limit of birds .I was able to acquire one of my dads that has absolutely zero monetary value and i hope to pass it on to my son exactly as dad used it during the depression. Save it , use it, and remember grandpa.
