I won a draw hunt on the Samworth WMA this past Tuesday. Was about as good an experience as it can be, without shooting any ducks. Word has it no one in SC has any ducks. I hope to try Georgia this coming weekend so we will see

The house is the old Dirleton Plantation house

All the hunting up here in Alaska was thrown off by the very late coming of both spring and fall. There were/are no grouse, the ducks were very delayed in heading south, which would have effected a lot of hunting grounds in the lower 48, and the moose harvest was way down. Even the fishing was thrown off. Very odd summer.

Excellent photos! I think in the end we are all really just hunting experiences, and it sounds like you filled your limit there without even firing a shot.

Beautiful place Mills. Strange such good water has no ducks. I wonder what is going on? We have a good population on Little and Great Bay here on the coast of NH. Salt water hunting until January 7th this year. Hunted yesterday and saw hundreds of Canadian Geese and several hundred Black Ducks that were rafted in the center of Great Bay and did not fly all day. The geese were moving though and we had nice shooting on them but only managed one:whistle:

The water was too deep and there was no food. There were a fair number of ducks flying around, but none came within range to shoot. It has been a bad season here for a lot of places, so I was not alone.

That is a nice goose.
