This gun is listed on GB, a train wreck but cool engraving I have never seen before.

I know there has been discussions before on odd screws in odd locations, but I would really like to know what purpose that one serves. Anything beyond it being a plug, it would hinder the movement of the hammer. Who kmows?
This engraving is renition of the pretty typical for the early GH guns.

This example predates the transition of the open game scene to that of the oval vignette we more commonly see. The open game scene is a carry-over from the engraving design of the hammer guns.
That odd screw appears to have been removed and replaced a heck of a lot more than the other screws ever were.... perhaps an ill-informed previous owner believed he needed an oil port for his gun... this probably contributed to the stock head splitting from oil saturation.

That looks like the one that was for sale forever and then dropped off.
That engraving pattern was on GH and EH Parkers from the first ones through 62,xxxx, approximately.
