Hi Daniel,
Though I have never done this, if I wanted to I would use spray adhesive. Spray it on the back of the label and press into place. Neat, clean and no glue run. Being a woodworker I have used spray adhesive on patterns that I stick to wood for cutting and it works like a charm.

I have installed several trade labels using 3M Super 77 spray adhesive. I use painters tape to mark the outline of where the label will go to insure the label ends up level and square. I spray the back of the label only.

Who,
Great tip on leveling and squaring the label.

At Michel's craft store you can pick up double sided adhesive that come in 8x10 inch sheets, cut to fit the label peel back the covering and apply to label and then the case. Nice thing about this way is you can also remove the label if you need to.

I Like Erics idea although I have never tried this ,I will in the future ! I have applied many of these labels to cases as I like to keep my Parker's in a Leather case ,also when I restored the interior of my Austin Healey ,I used the 3M 77 , it works well on the case labels as well as the automobile interiors ! The only issue is ,if you read the directions on the Spray can it reads something such as this ,Spray only one side wait until Tacky and apply , the second part of those directions are if for permanent use apply 3M 77 to both sides of what you are adhering , wait until Tacky and apply ,this is the part that will really do in the back of the case should you ever want to remove the Trade Label to change guns or sell the case ! If you apply to both work pieces ,it truly becomes permanent and will in fact tear the lining of the case should you attempt to remove the label !

Several years ago Kade Gile at Huey Gun Cases told me he uses Titebond Hyde Glue to install the trade labels. Clean up is with water and the label can be removed at anytime with a wet rag and a hot iron.
