View Full Version : ejectors on my Parker 12 g

I inherited a Parker 12g double barrel from my grandfather. I am unable to snap the forend to the barrel and receiver. The triggers won't function and the ejector on one side won't reset. A local gunsmith thinks one of the sears is damaged. He admittedly is not a Parker gunsmith. Does anyone know a gunsmith in Arizona or New Mexico that could do the repairs.
Thanks

Welcome Bill! Your best bet is to send your gun to a gunsmith who specializes in Parkers. There are several but Brad Bachelder's shop is the first to come to mind.

Bill, use a piece of soft wood or the edge of a wood table to carefully push the ejector hammer at the top of the forend back into place until it hopefully clicks. If it clicks into place, the ejector sear is not broken, but possibly filled with dirt or rust. Hold the forend very tight while you are doing this. Now install the forend and the triggers may work. Don't take it apart again. Let us know if you are successful.

Thanks for the info The sear is broken so I have sent the gun to a Parker gunsmith. I will post the results when it comes back.
Anybody know a good source for a leg-o-mutton gun cases? All that I see are under 32inches and I have two barrels, one of which is a 32inch

If you become a member, good cases come up for sale all the time in the member's only section of the forum

I have a 12 Gauge Parker DHE which shoots fine but has condition issues. Among those issues is that one ejector is broken, and the other is on its last legs. Can the ejectors both be removed, and if so, will the gun then function the same as a non-ejector gun (i.e. allow disassembly and reassembly, and lift the chambered shells upon opening so they can be lifted out?

Yes, the forend can be gutted of the ejector parts and all will operate fine. The only thing is that the shells will not lift up very far out of the barrels when you open it. Some would find it difficult to remove the shells after firing like this. Especially with gloves. But you can easily see what you think before you do anything. Just open it without firing the gun to see how far they come out.

Are you saying that you have one gun with 2 sets of bbls., one 30" the other 32"? Or are you saying that you have 2 separate guns that need cases? Let me know specifically what you are looking for.

I repair and refurbish LOM cases for members all the time, also fix up and sell older cases missing parts, etc. occasionally. 32-inch cases are hard to come by and getting to be more so. I recently sold a real rarity, a LOM fitted for TWO sets of 34" barrels for a heavy framed gun.

I have remanufactured Parker Ejector Hammers and are now available. Please give me a call or email if Ejector Hammers are needed.
