I see that the 2018 (?) NH New Years Day Parker Shoot is scheduled for Dec. 21, 2018.....?

Can anyone explain this?

Sounds like more of a Winter Solstitial Shoot, but whatever it's called, I thank the organizers for arranging these regional Parker mini-extravaganzas and I plan to be there.

I even wonder if this "NH NewYears Day Parker Shoot" is even the same one that we have been attending at Major Waldron's....?

I'd like to go as well. I remember last year it was sub-zero so it was canceled.

I have not gone to this shoot before and I am looking forward to it. As soon as the date is confirmed I will do my best to make sure I can go. I could make it on the 21st...

Allen:

It is in the event Calendar shown above this thread --kind of hovering over it; an adjunct to this Events thread. (You can tell I am not trained in computer language.)

Info. can be found there, all apparently systematized and provided by a dedicated PGCA volunteer. Click on the correct month (December) on lower right, and click further to find a summary about the planned shoot.

You just never know...

This was 2009 - howling wind and wind chill factor well below zero

I think those flaps can be pushed up in the hat to not block your vision when you have it on backwards. Just sayin'

Actually, I wore the hat like that to avoid recognition while I was stealing
Mr. Dunkle's forend from his DH 20 with Damascus barrels.

My calendar says 12/21/2018 is a Friday. Is the shoot really being held on a weekday?

At this point in time I plan on opening Major Waldron's on NYD for us to gather and shoot. I will get the OK from club officials in the near future, given 1/1/19 is on a Tuesday there should be no conflicts. The usual venue is an open trap and skeet field, perhaps a few games such as a 27 yard elimination and 10ga back up 27 yard protection. Hopefully a few members will bring us some delicious items for lunch as they have in the past and hopefully the weather will cooperate. More to follow in the coming weeks.

While i am planning to attend this event, nerve tests on my left hand, my shooting hand, indicate moderate to severe carpal tunnel syndrome in my left thumb and index finger. Meeting with my surgeon on dec 12 to plan out the surgery. I'm hoping the surgery can be postponed till shortly after the New Year.

Best one I’ve heard in years!

I have checked in with the powers that be at Major Waldron's Sportsman's Association and we have a green light to use the facility for a New Years Day shoot. The gate will be open (there is a gate to the parking lot now) by 7:30AM. Shooting starts at 9AM. The day will consist of an open skeet field and an open trap field. Cost of a round of either is $5, non-member rate. If we have time and interest we can play a couple of shotgun games as we have in the past, 27 yard 10ga backup and a protection/Annie Oakley. I am also hoping some of those who attend will bring us yummy eats as they have in the past. Let's hope the weather cooperates for a fun day.

Banana and cranberry bread w/nuts has been made and is ready for travel.
Dean: I put the book you asked for in the car so I would not forget it. Just remind me when I get to the range.
