Has anyone tested Longshot in the short 10?

I keep looking at that Nice Shot load with 33.3 grains of Longshot. 8,780 PSI with a FED209A and 1,335 FPS seems like a great start point. Thinking that 30 grains under 1-3/8 or 1-1/4 oz of Bismuth or ITX10 should make a usable, low pressure load. How does Bismuth or ITX10 compare to the stack height of Nice Shot?

Will report pressure results ASAP.

1,343 fps variation 32 fps
8,780 avg psi variation 2,100 psi (high 10,000, low 7900)

Not a 10 gauge load, but a lower pressure 12 ga, 3 inch, bismuth load I have been working up for one of my British waterfowl guns. Might help as a starting point for someone.

Pressure variations came back high for the old gun. See edited post above. Will update with sheets when they arrive in the mailbox.

Note that average pressure and velocity is almost a duplicate of the Nice Shot load that this is based on.

Here's the test results. The covered portions are from a separate loading that I don't want to confuse the main topic.

Hope someone sees this as useful.

I'm debating on running it again with 29.0 Longshot, all else the same. If I lost 100 fps and a 1,000 psi off of the high I would be pretty happy.

If you were able to roll crimp that load, you might make it there.

Big pressure variance in my opinion. I would not be satisfied with that load if u plan to use it in a vintage double.

That is some interesting data. Very low(in my experience) shot-shot velocity variation, and yet fairly high pressure variation, ie 2% on the velocity and 24% on the pressure. Shotguns seem to play by their own rules. I wonder what could explain this?
