Stopped by Cabelas in Wheeling WV today, they have a 20ga. A1 with letter for $79,995.00. Better hurry might not last long...

I made a quick pass thru Sunday after sporting clays at Hunting Hills--we meet in the Cabelas parling lot. Was looking for lead shot , must have missed it.

Didn't we just see one of those A1-S 20 gauge guns sell at auction a year or so ago for about $250K ?
I wonder what's wrong with the one at Cabela's?

Harold, hanging on the wall to the left of the door into the gun library in a glass enclosed shadow box. There was also a "D" grade on the right hand side of the door, I think about 8K. They had 4 or 5 Parkers in there.
Dean, the finish on the butt stock was blemished on the side I could see.

Okay well.... I guess that's good for a deduction of about $175K :rotf:

I feel certain that gun has been around for some time. Here's the GI link:
https://www.gunsinternational.com/guns-for-sale-online/shotguns/parker-shotguns/parker-brothers-a-1-special-20-ga-.cfm?gun_id=101038310
The Parker letter in the ad actually references 2 guns. Serial # 158188 which appears to be the # on the trigger tang and is in the book as an AA. Then it references Serial # 145198 which is a DH 20 and it appears to me this is the # on the water table but I cannot say for sure, poor pic. Maybe someone else can see that number more clearly. Why would the letter reference 2 guns ??

I haven't had a chance to go look at it but that gun has been there at least a few months ! We were suppose to head down to Cabelas this Saturday but the rest of the Family seems to have picked up severe colds I doubt if we will make the trip ,now I am just hoping not to get that ! I am not a buyer but with the gun being within 100 Miles of me I would like a chance to get a look at it !

DAH = 2 1/4"...kills the deal for me. I'll be able to stay married now. Spectacular gun though.

I stopped in last night after my guitar lesson, and she is a real beauty.
I had a 10% off coupon with me--wonder if they would have honored it?

Harold:
Per my previous post on this gun did you happen to note if the #s matched as it appears in that blurry pic that they may not. Also I am still puzzled by that letter, why does it reference the other gun ??

The gun was locked up in the display case, so didnt note serial #'s. I wondered why the letter talked about the DHE 20 also.

Figured it out. If you blow that letter up and read the last sentence of the first paragraph it appears to state that there was a credit allowed for the referenced second gun in the letter. I assume the Gent traded the DHE 20 in on the A1S. Nice upgrade eh ...
