Those barrels are actually ‘laminated steel’ which, personally, I like better than Damascus.

Best Guess:
A Belgian made gun on a basic W. & C Scott action. Can we see the proofs on its barrel flats please? That will tell a better tale.

S.J. & D, this mark was deposited by company SIMONIS-JANSSEN & DUMOULIN of Liege which deposited eight patents of 1883 to 1886.

LOL,If thats true thats totally Awesome! I will post a pic of the barrel proofs as soon as I get a minute. Obviously that is what my gun is though.

The Continental was a name used by Great Western Gun Works [or similar] . Made in Belgium and retailed in the U.S. I have a fine example with gold accents. Early 1880s as I recall.
