Fellow Collectors:

I just opened a letter from Eastern Insurance that announced that Jack Richardson had died, just before I was going to phone him regarding changes in my coverage due to the sale of a few Parkers.

A search of this forum years back found a recommendation for this arms insurance program. I spoke to Mr. Richardson several times over the years as the value of my small collection moved up and down and he always gave me the best of service and would take the time to discuss the collector's market and the usual SXS subjects.

I was fortunate to have never experienced a loss with Eastern, but believe that it would have been well covered. Other than one policy, I have no connection to Jack or Eastern.

I never met this man in person, but believe that he will be missed.

Patrick,

Like you I got the same letter in the mail yesterday. I tried calling Jack a couple of times earlier in the year. I never talked to Jack, but did talk to a nice lady who said Jack was out of the office for an unspecified amount time. She was helpful, but I also got the feeling something was going on with Jack.

I never met Jack in person, but I sure liked talking to him on the phone. Because of his personality I was confident in taking out a policy with his firm. This policy has given me a piece of mind that if something happen to one of my guns or my whole collection, Jack would be there to help guide me through it & make things right.

I'm sorry to hear of his passing, I always had the impression he was a good man!!

I met Jack at one of the Greenwich shows a decade or so ago. Super nice guy and very informative and helpful.

Sorry to learn he's gone from us.
