Thanks to Brian Dudley for selling this firearm. I don't have the letter on it yet, not that I expect anything fabulous on a GH letter but you never know.

The guns is 30 inch 1 frame 12 gauge, weighs in at 7lb 12 oz with barrels that weigh 4lbs 3oz. The frame is greyed but with sharp engraving and the barrels have a very nice silver damascus pattern. The buttstock is in good original shape, the forend has been recheckered and not the best, but serviceable for a nice shooter.

That is the description on this gun, a real nice shooter....however, I don't know if its the engraving, the damascus, or what but this gun really connects with me. I have previously owned a shooter DH 1 frame that had thin barrels and weighed in at 6lbs 10 oz and had barrels that flew. This one has barrels that barely seem to taper and for a 1 frame, the barrels have a solidness to them that feels like you could use them as a baseball bat. All in all a nice honest GH that I am very happy with.

Nice gun Bill congrats. It will be fun to hunt with some RST 2 inch shells. Try them I think you'd like them.

I am a big fan of RST's 2.5 spreader loads. Have never tried a 2 inch shell in a 12 gauge though.

Fred Verry, Bob Decker and I were joking about that at the NE. Fred was trying to remember who it was years ago that always used to say “not a screw turned” when describing his guns for sale. Fred asked, if that is the case, then how did they get them in the gun at the factory?

The dealer was Tom Gibbons. He also seemed to have a lot of guns that were owned by famous people, Babe Ruth, ect...

Thats a really nice gun Bill. The tip checkering had a mistake but its a shooter and its not that big a deal for most. Why anyone who is not skilled at checkering would try working on a Parker is beyond me. But its a great gun nevertheless. I'm glad you're happy with it.

If those barrels weren't refinished by Dale Edmonds in his earlier days of barrel refinishing, I'll eat my hat..... (Not my stanky ol' camo hat I've never washed though.)

I had wondered about that Dean. I have never seen a set of barrels he did in person to be knowledgable at all, but have seen several sets posted on the forum that Dale did that looked similar.

Bill I'm not a 12ga guy never have been BUT last year I bought a Purdey light game gun. It just spoke to me even though it was a 12. With 27 inch bbls choked .004 & .008 and coming in just a tad over 6lbs it's a joy in the field. I bought a case of the 2 inch paper shells from RST 3/4oz 8's and there magic on grouse, woodcock and quail.

Try em you'll like em.

I have a PH and a GH on #1 Frames. What a delight to carry and shoot. I'm with Rich on the lighter shells in a 7 lbs Parker. They are easy on you and the gun.

I have a bunch of 12 gauge hammerless Parkers on 1 frames. It is a great configuration. You see a lot of them in the early hammerless range, at least I do
