Hi there,
I have an original 1928 Parker PH 28" 12 ga. but don't know if the butt plate on it is original. I believe it's period but not original. Would anyone know where I could find an original butt plate for replacement? I would like to find an original over a reproduction.
Thank you,
Johnny

A 1928 PH would have a flat-back butt plate rather than the earlier spurred butt plates.

Ok... lets start with a photo of what you have to first determine if you have a problem or not.
Then we can go from there.

Thank you Dean Rooming, that's good info.
B. Dudley, see photos attached.
Any further information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks again,

Ok. Yes. An aftermarket, but period correct, recoil pad.
The butt may have been cut, so getting an original style buttplate to fit may not be an option. Measurements of the wood surface for height and width would tell for sure.

Thanks Johnny Rosito - Yes, it is good information... something you will almost always get on this forum.
Please notice that I spelled your name correctly... :bigbye:

I took it to a renouned gunsmith who measured the stock and determined it has never been cut. Would anyone be able to provide a photo or exact name/ part # of what butt plate I should be looking for? Again, I'm looking for an original not a reproduction.
Thanks again,
Johnny

Renouned or not, the easiest way to tell is of there is still a curve in it. One photo looks like it has a curve, the other not. And the minor chipping along the edge of the wood is suspect if it is untouched.
And if your gun was originally equipt with a pad, then it would have been made that way and a buttplate may not fit. What is your current LOP over the pad?
If you gun originally had a plate on it, it would Likely have been the number 1 sized plate. But that cannot be confirmed without a height measurement of the wood.

Length of pull. As measured from the face of the front trigger to the center face of the butt mounting surface.

"To" the pad would be only to the edge of the wood.
"Over" the pad would include the pad in total length.
