I am familiar with the jobbing and shooting history of Arthur DuBray and SA Tucker(less than I know of Dubray, but still aware), just curious what the provenance of such a gun is?

I know it is ridiculously unlikely such a gun was ordered for their personal use, but is it considered more collectable to have a gun that was ordered by them specifically as opposed to Jones & Co hardware?

Or that blasted hardware store in St Louis that 90% of the 1st gen SAAs in existence apparently shipped to?

It is cool, even if the added dollar value is not much. Not sure what kind of dollar value it adds. I have one ordered by S. A. Tucker and another by a C. H. Tucker. Not sure if there is a relation?

Tucker and DuBray travelled all over the country, attended shoots where they took orders for individual customers. They also assisted dealers in placing orders for their customers, and sometimes in bulk. There are some guns identified as their personal guns in some Parker records, but very few. Very few guns have added value because of a Tucker or DuBray name on the order.

Bill, Are you a Member of the CCA? Many years ago, there was a project to document the Purchase and Sales records of Simmons. I'm not sure where it went.

I have been in the past, but mostly I just enjoyed the rampant colt magazines so I have let it expire.
