I have a question for the forum, I have numerous letters with guns that mention"please return case" "L" trunk. does this mean a low case as seen in advertisements by Parker at the time? has anyone else seen this or know what it means, Gary

I have read thousands of original Parker orders and have not seen that particular terminology. Are you sure of the wording? The letter does not always mimic the wording of the original order.

Leather trunk would be my guess.

Great, Gary. That may clarify things. You are a "leather trunk" kind of guy. My orders normally say "return shirts". The shirts are the soft sleeves that the cheaper grades were shipped in. There was some discussion of how guns were packed a while back, maybe here, maybe Parker Pages.

Bill, the last gun ser # 85315 is not in the book but, 85314 was a AA grade hammerless with 30 in Whitworth barrels and a Monte Carlo stock, so maybe these cases were with higher grade guns? Gary
