In cleaning out an old desk,I found a letter detailing the history of Fox XE/HE serial number 30069.I used to own and shoot this gun years ago.I sold it to Bill Headrick Sr.in the 1980s.It is very similar to the Becker gun now in Memphis at DU headquarters.I would be glad to send this letter to the current owner if he can be located.I can be contacted by PM or call 615-403-0593.I have posted this on the Fox collectors site as well.

See: Caldwell Had A 'Becker' ….. Said Nash Buckingham! by William W Headrick in the DGJ, Volume 2 Issue 3. Pics are included in the article along with a letter on 30069 from Mr. Buck to Edgar Caldwell, dated October 1959.

That is the same gun.I do not have any photos of the gun.The letter I have is from Mr. Caldwell to me detailing where the gun came from.I sold the Buckingham letter to Headrick with the gun.I just forgot about this letter.I would like to get the letter back with the gun to give the current owner more history. This gun is one I never, ever, should have sold.At the time I was a struggling Industrial engineer with 2 small daughters.Needed the money.

Gun #30069 is discussed at length in Michael McIntosh 's book. Photos on pages 210, 219 and 225. A letter of authenticity from Nash Buckingham is reproduced on page 226. Mr. McIntosh describes it as the finest Super - Fox ever made.

If anyone knows who has the gun, have them contact me and I will send them the letter.I think the gun went through one of the Julias auctions several years ago.The letter is very informative.Mr.Caldwell traced the gun back into the 1930s.He knew the family of the original owner and got it from them.

Well guys, the hunt is over. The owner of the XE/HE has contacted me.The letter will soon be in his hands. It is ironic because he is a long time customer and friend.I had no idea he had the gun.Thank you for the kind words and help.
