So several of us went early season quail hunting. The cover was thick and the birds ran and ran through it.

It got to be too hot so we quit and went to town.

After the necessities, more necessities.

Then I unwrapped just an old 1881 beater 12 ga 7 lb light game gun from its burlap bag and put it in a nice case made by Edgar Spencer.

I shoot through it what Parker told me to shoot. We are lucky to have all these original instructions so that we don’t have to make stuff up.

We enjoy getting together with a fine wine list . This from Wall Drug. It doesn’t get any better. We understand the French Laundry in Napa is trying to compete and we wish them well.

That wax likeness of Pelosi survived the fire in Madam Tussaud's Wax Museum with only a little bit of slide from melting wax... In fact, it is better than her real-life face...:biglaugh:

Wall Drug!... Isn't that the place advertised on roadside signs nearly 1,000 miles North, South, East, and West of the place and when you arrive you say to yourself "All that fuss for this?"

.

They do a lot of advertising and when you get there you wonder why. My wife liked seeing it. It's kinda out there in SD.

However, as a kid my parents would drive us from FL to PA to visit relatives. South of the Border in SC/NC was the attraction like Wall's Drug.

What about "See Rock City" painted on barn roofs on all Alabama and Georgia roads leading to Chattanooga? Not to mention Burma Shave, of course.

Nice post! I've been to Beaver and hunted in the sand burrs and brush. My Gordon pointed a porky with feet that looked like they should have been on a bear, and it was nearly that size. I assume you've paid homage to the cow pie eating Big Beaver float tucked away in a side street, yes?

The ranchers cafe at the cattle sales barn is back open and is a good place for a slab of cow.

It’s best to go well armed, not with just a puny 20 ga in case you run into a big porcupine. I’ve shown a bunch of pictures of bloody dogs that got into porcupines . Lions are coming down the Beaver River drainage from the west and the state DNR just issued an advisory about bears in the area.

And the big beavers are always the most dangerous.
