What type of lever is this? Do you think it opens to the left? I'm trying to learn as much as I can before buying my first Parker. Thank you in advance.

Commonly called a "fishtail lever". Allows one to open the gun when the hammers are cocked. And they look very cool.

It's called a Fishtail lever. It is designed to provide clearance to the right hammer when the hammer is cocked. It's correct

The assumption is that is was for hammer clearance. But we do not know for aure. It was also used on some early hammerless guns as well. It is also a bit more irgonomic.

If you really want to learn as much as you can, buy and read The Parker Story.

Ordered a copy today, Volume one was opened for autograph, Volume two is still in wrap. It makes me wonder if most folks actually read them or are saving them for some reason. Mine should have some mars very quickly. Perhaps a knowledge through proximity, osmosis technique. Well it never worked for me that process. I will have to break down and read them. Thanks for the suggestion.
