I just left Gunslingers Auction and was asked to look at a CHE 28 ga. The gun is a DelGreco upgrade and looks like Robert Runge did the engraving. It has 26" bbls and is stamped skeet in -Skeet out.
The gun looks very close to new, and comes from a serious collection of Parker's.
I assume that the barrels are new from the old stock that was purchased by the DelGrecos years ago from Remington.
I thought this may draw some interest, and it will be posted on their website. I think that they use proxibid.
A nice gun that should have some serious thought. certainly even a upgrade should raise some eyebrows!!

In the last thirty to forty years I've seen some nice guns that were Del Greco redo's or upgrades . But I gotta say I personally would prefer an original 30-40% gun over the best restoration or upgrade . I suppose you can just blame it on growing up and always hearing buy as close to factory original as you can .
But again that's just my preference .

The thing is, I rarely come across restorations that are dicounted, I have seen several 12 ga Bs and Cs that are advertised as restored or even upgrades and they aren't much cheaper priced than the original vondition guns I have seen. There is a BHE at collectors firearms that is sleeved, totally throwing off the weight and it isn't much cheaper than original BHEs...

Why would a sleeved gun's weight vary substantially from the original? I would understand a tubed gun being different, but...

No clue, but the one time I handled it, balance didnt feel right. Course gun also now has sleeved acme barrels instead of the damascus it came with.

The man's name is D-E-L G-R-E-G-O, NOT Del Greco; El Greco; Del Griggi, etc. All together now; D-E-L G-R-E-G-O !!!

I hope Craig will post a picture of his 30 to 40% CHE 28 gauge that he would rather own than the upgraded Runge gun. I don't know how Collectors Firearm B grade got into this conversation. It has been for sale on their list for years and I think we all know it is an unacceptable gun without being told in a DelGrego thread.
