Nicholas: Calvin may be correct. Size limits are 244 Kb with dimensions no larger than 800 x 800 pixels. You can upload a file that meets those criteria directly from your computer. If they are larger, are you able to re-size? You can also attach images already located on a website by copying the url and pasting that into the field that opens with the attach image icon at the top of the message frame. If you have pictures on a storage site, like photobucket for instance, you can also provide a link. We all enjoy pictures so let us know how you are trying to upload the images and you will get the help you need.
Cheers,
Jack

Thanks guys. I'll try to figure out what that all means. I'm not that savy with computers yet. I'll ask my son. Kids know everything.

Here's a set of instructions on posting pictures from the FAQ board.

Those are good instructions; however, if you want to upload from your computer, you need to have a picture that is fairly close to the size limits. The albums say they will re-size up to a point. Most digital pics come out of the camera between 2 to 4 MB but my experience is that those will not upload without being re-sized and if you don't have some photo software or an email program that will let you resize, you are kind of stymied. Uploading using a URL works readily. Maybe I'm missing something, but that has been my experience.

Maybe John Dunkle has a magic touch for getting an oversized genie into an 800x800 pixel bottle without having photo software. :)

Nicholas: If you can attach to an email, send it my way and I will get them on for you.

Cheers,
Jack

There are several ways to resize, depending on the software available to you on your computer. On Microsoft systems there is a program in the Accessories called "paint" that can do the job. Start up "paint" and open the picture. After the picture is loaded, click on the resize option in the "image" tab. A box of options will pop up which will allow you to resize it based on a percentage. You may need to reduce the size several times until you get it down to the desired size. (Remember to save it in a new name so you don't over wright and destroy the original).

"Paint" may not be the best tool for the job but it is on every Microsoft system by default and it will do the job.

Here's a few Nicholas. Kind of complicated through the Kodak site. Give Robin's suggestion with MSPaint a try and see how that goes.

Thanks Jack. I'm not sure I understand what Robin is saying but I'll give it a try.

Hey thanks guys for the assist!! As well - there are more than a few ways to add pictures to a thread...?

First - if you start an Album:
http://parkerguns.org/forums/album.php?do=addalbum - my servers/software will resize many pictures automatically - and as well - give you the IMG code to put that picture into your posts...

As well - if you have your picture uploaded on another website - just paste that link after clicking this button: http://parkerguns.org/forums/images/beige_noir/editor/insertimage.gif

Next - if you "attach" an image in the post REPLY window (or post NEW THREAD) window - you can upload JPEG/JPG/PSD/PNG files up to about half a MB and 1800x1800..?

Next - REGARDLESS of anything you upload - the thread post view will use my resizing code in the thread/post..?

Make sense??

If not - let us know where you are "stuck", OK??

Was stuck here. Can you fix that??
This SxS shooter was rescued by a 4x4 farmer.

Any chance that the auto-resize program could accept and re-size up to a 5MB image? That would be nice :)

Cheers

Not physically but sometimes pride is bruised. For example.

Question: Do you think we can get to the pavement down this mud road?
Answer: See picture above.

Answer: See picture above.

Of course you can have pavement - and little white lines for a passing zone...
Answer: See picture below.

See - you just asked the wrong people - I would have paved it for you...

I run Windows XP. So I put the photos in "My Pictures" I then open them under preview. Once the picture is open I right click on edit.Click "stretch/scew". Resize them to 60% and wala they are ready for uploading to the site.
