Brian, I noticed this too, I had originally watched the case as I thought it might be a repro case. When it got upto $300 I thought it was odd, but when I saw it ended at that I couldnt believe it. I am curious if we are missing something too.

Ebay can be very odd at times. Nothing on ebay surprises me anymore.

A few years ago I was trying to buy some Ducks Unlimited shooting glasses on ebay. I kept getting outbid and they kept selling for more than you could order them for from a distributor, which I finally did. The last pair I got beat on I actually sent the winner an email and told him "Do you realize you just paid more for these than you can order them for on line every day of the week?" I never got a reply but it made me feel better :).

How do you send the winner of something on eBay a message? I thought they blocked this information..

Auctions are funny things , I went to a Local Auction a few years back where they had quite a few Boxes of 410 Shells ,they weren't antique shells but the exact ammo you could purchase at Walmart for $11.97 a box at the time ,they were bid up $21.00 a Box and they were divided up at that price by whatever quantity you wanted to who ever put their hand up ,and they went like Hot Cakes ! Imagine if the bidding would have stopped at $5.00 ,they would have all got them at that price !

Friend of mine bought a small electronic part off eBay. Arrives at his door few days later in Amazon box. Sure he bought off eBay not Amazon starts looking. eBay Seller listed the item, never had it in his possession. Filled the order by buying the part from Amazon & having it shipped to my friend.

It’s a new world out there.

Awhile back, I had a popular auction house sell two 15 round boxes of mil spec 8mm Mauser cartridges for me. They were made in the late 70s, and cost no more than $7.00 per box. The highest bidder paid $140.00 for those two little boxes!

They do now. You used to be able to communicate directly but I guess they figured there were too many back door deals going on so they stopped it. You used to see the names of the bidders; now it's just a code number.

There was a Fox HE that sold during the Super Bowl two years ago with cut barrels that brought over 14K. The belief was two drunks were bidding against each other. As the old saying goes it only takes 2.

Remember the junky hammer gun a year or so ago that, if you scrolled all the way to the last picture on Gunbroker, came with an original case?

Maybe this buyer will get lucky, as Mark says, and find a gun in the case when it arrives

Mills, I got that “junky” Hammergun with the original walnut case. It wasn’t that junky LOL

Mills Morrison

Maybe that was a bad description to use. Let's say the Gunbroker photos did not do much for it . . . until you got to the last photo

Just having some fun Mills. The case and all the attachments, primer tin, cleaning rods, decapper, funnel, primer tool, powder/shot measure and 26 twelve gauge brass shells, of which 6 or so were Parker more than suggested hitting the Buy it now button and the lifter wasn’t as bad as the pictures made it out to be. Sometimes we get lucky

Guns are often better than they appear in photos on Gunbroker. Sometimes worse as well.

While we are on the subject, we should be due for some photos of your project. Seems there has been enough time to get it cleaned up.

Mills, the case was gently and lovingly restored by a neighbor craftsman and sold to a member here. The gun was cleaned up and now resides with a different member.

As P.T.Barnum said, “there’s a sucker born every Day”. Some don’t educate themselves enough to make sensible decisions. Oooooh well

P.T.Barnum knew a lot more suckers.
I believe he said,"There's a sucker born every minute".
