I am in Walla Walla, WA and have a Parker I picked up awhile back. The gunsmith I took it to was well regarded but he kept it for over a year and is now telling me he is retiring and didn't touch it. I have a 12 Gauge on a 1 1/2 frame, it is a 2 or G grade with ejectors. It also has an english stock which I am not sure is original. I am looking for someone to go through the gun and make sure it is in good working order so I can use it for hunting. Any recommendations for a reliable, reasonable and competent gunsmith nearby?

I suggest you got to www.parkerguns.org and on the left side of the page click on the FAQ link. I think the very first item on the FAQ list may help you.

You will more than likely have to ship the gun to one of the gunsmiths listed on the site.

Mark, I'm sorry to learn you were treated so poorly. I hope you get it sorted sooner than later.

Mark, I live in Yakima, WA. Know a couple of gunsmiths who could help you, pm me or call Brian Brubaker, Yakima, WA(912)659 4505. This is not a WA number, don't know why he hasen't gotten another number, but he did a fine job on my GH, and done a lot of work on a friend's English guns.
