Wondering if someone can help identify this Parker Shotgun. We believe it is a pre-1874 "Dollar Grade". It is laminated Steel Barrel Construction, and from this forum we believe it is 1 of 146 laminated steel barrel guns of the first roughly 3400 Parker guns manufactured. Please assist further if you can. Thanks in advance.

Where does the 146 laminated steel guns information come from?

I believe the 146 laminated steel barrel production number is from page 242 of TPS Vol. 1 of pre-1874 Parkers. That is a nice gun! I think grade wise it would have been a grade 1 equivalent.

The checkering pattern of the forend would likely indicate the dollar-quality equivalent of the Grade 2 guns.

Jay, thanks for referring me to that page. I had mistakenly assumed that some of the Laminated guns were in the first 1500 guns that are not documented. I learn something new every time I look at The Parker Story. I also learned that my little Grade 1 hammerless 20 gauge Laminated gun is a bit uncommon.
