That's sort of funny to me Mark. I looked what has to be that same Gunbroker offering up yesterday. 159146 caught my eye. How about an A grade 16 ga with 32" tubes. I could make it work.

Here are some photos of a 40" (40.5" actually) NH 8g. built in 1899.
Gun weighs in at around 16.5 lbs. Un-struck weight on barrels was 12.5 lbs.
A 36" 8ga feels balanced compared to this cannon!

thats a really nice 8 ga this is what i want SANTA CLAUSEto bring me for CHRISTMAS...this is one big gun the barrels weight about as much as a whole 8 ga gun....can you imagine setting in a duck blind with this cannon and have a big flock of green heads come over...would have loved to have been in that duck blind....charlie

Mine has 34 inches. If the GH in Julia's is the one I think it is, it handles pretty well

I shot a 5 bird practice race with an 8 gauge, way back in the day. (An old friend from Sacramento, well, long story)
Can't remember bbl lengths, or how many ounces of 7 1/2 went with every trigger pull.
The gun was slow to start, but very smooth. Recoil was not crazy, and it would pole-axe a bird at the back fence.
