What would be the latest value estimate on a .410/28 set, SST, English stock, average Reproduction wood. Thanks, Bill

Any gun sale can be effected by many things....I know 410/28 set would do 10K if its correct and 99% condition and on a good day 12500.00 Anything over that would be a gift I would think...(-: Double trigger sets have been sold at 14500.00 not long ago and I remember one 3 barrel set with asking prices over 18K! final sale $ unknown. The fact is they only made a small run of 410 barrel sets so they a rare! and the price is volatile. All the hard to find scarce Parker reproductions will continue to increase in value...they ain't making anymore of them! They are nice well made modern guns and I am happy to own the ones I have. thanks all, SXS Ohio

In the mid 1990's when I was interviewing Jack Skeuse regarding PR for
The Parker Story he indicated that when they lost their manufacturing facilities in Japan they looked throughout Europe for another manufacturer to make the PR
but only found one that would or could build the gun to the same quality
standards as in Japan. ( As I recall it was in Italy ) But Reagent would have to charge approximately $10,000 for the standard DHE PR that they had been selling for in the mid three-thousand range. Obviously they knew that would not be possible.
This just indicates the quality in the PR! Today's values are commensurate with
demand, grade, gauge, and rarity factor. As Will Rogers once said about land--
" They are not making anymore"!

To extend the sentiment "they're not making any more" there is yet another element to the PR that I've not read anywhere, which is beyond me.

Parker & Winchester

And, they're truly well built guns to boot..is it just me?

Richard, I'm not sure if William has one for sale, but here's a 28/28/.410 3-bbl. set that's currently listed on GI:

Hi Greg I spoke to them about this gun... Pricey .
Well . . . what do you think would be a fair price for that set? :corn: :)

My guess would be11,000 to 13,000. That gun is used and has a few scratches on it. Great wood just not 100%. If it was I think 15000 max in my opinion. Thanks

I agree, the $18500 ask on that set is quite optimistic; as is the $6450 for the Steel Shot Special that Galazan listed recently. Nonetheless, it's very good to see the Parker Reproductions getting the respect we know they deserve.

I know one thing is certain . . . if I ever were to list my unfired SG, SPL, DT Sporting Clays Classic, the asking price would make the Galazan SSS look like a bargain.

I have one of the few, I believe there were 9 of these sets produced, that I will be putting up for sale shortly, pistol grip, double triggers, splinter forend in the original trunk case with canvas cover. I now own originals that I now use with my string of 5 English setters hunting the Northeast 40+ days every fall, hence the sale.

My good friend and grouse and woodcock gunning partner has an identical set with a single selective trigger, that also may be for sale also at the right price.

Both set were purchased when they first became available.

If anyone here is interested, please contact me directly via email before I place a listing in Guns International.

Not all sellers of 28-.410 Repro sets know where the .410 barrels came from. I don't know how the value of an original set compares with a Galazan .410 barrel set.

I think the guns being discussed here are the factory 410-28 sets, DHE grade built on the standard OO 28gauge frame. I still have a three barrel set that is my go to mini gauge woodcock gun. Its a sweet thing for sure DT-PG-and two BTF. My research for these guns... I believed to be over 30 guns but less than 50 410/28-s made on OO frames. Maybe Richard would comment on production numbers. Back when hunting rabbits with beagles I liked shooting 410-s I had a Sears Stevens 311 26" F/F that performed many one shot endings to a good chase. SXS Ohio

I spoke with Richard yesterday, he related that the records had been destroyed relative to the numbers of 28/.410 sets. He speculated that possibly as many as 20 were produced, but no way of substantiating without the records. The two set that I have access to are originals sold in the mid to late 80's, therefore not Galazan barrels.

I still have my heart set on a 0000 frame .410. Almost all of my shotgun visions have been fulfilled, but the 0000 frame gun is still out there for me.
