I have a set of Parker Damascus barrels that I would like to get refinished. If you know of anyone doing quality work with a turn around time less than 3 months can you please send me a PM with their contact info.

Thank you
Patrick

Look into Aaron Zimmerman. He runs an ad in DGJ.

i've seen his ads- have you seen examples of his work?

He did a set of Damascus barrels for me on an early GH shooter of mine. They turned out very good. I have also seen photos of his work that were equally as good looking.

A word of caution concerning Aaron Zimmerman. I tried to contact him a week before Thanksgiving with no reply.Again a week after Thanksgiving I tried again, and again no reply. I had a set of barrels I wanted finished and left a message stating that fact twice. While Brian and Daniel Cote are satisfied with the quality of his work, I find his reliability unsatisfactory.

I had Batchelder do a set for me. Turn around time was reasonable and the barrels came out very nice.

Craig,
I also tried to send you an email around thanksgiving and did not get a reply. Maybe there is a thanksgiving goblin is running around stealing emails from inboxes so they are not reaching their recipients. I dont know.

Brian, I did reply to your email and spent approximately 20 minutes discussing options available to you, but informed you I would be unavailable enjoying a much warmer climate until April. I had to assume you received my email as I retained my response in the SENT ITEMS of my emails for at least a week andwere not interested in the options I expressed. As for Aaron Zimmerman his only contact listed in his ad is a telephone # which I tried twice and left a voice mail each time. If you want to discuss your previous email I can call tomorrow or email you, your choice. The wife is golfing tomorrow so I have no car. Craig

Well the Goblin stole it from my inbox then. Who knows what happens with such things.
I am in no hurry on the subject of my mailing. I knew you were heading south anyway.

Patrick, there aren't very many craftsman doing browning and fewer still who do black/gray. If you find someone who does quality work in less than 3 months you better keep him a secret as I would be satisfied with deliver in anything under six months

Hi Patrick,
If you want to pm your phone number to me, I will tell you about my miserable experience, so that maybe you suffer the same fate.

Brian,
If you want to pm your phone number to me, I'll be happy to discuss details of my experience, but will not publicly. I will say that it was NOT Aaron Zimmeran.

I am going to revise my previous thoughts on Zimmerman and advise anyone to avoid at all costs.

Bad news!

Shared your thoughts with the boys in Bloomfield. I personally will make no further attempt to contact Aaron Zimmerman. I will seek more info when I see you later this year. For members who require brown Damascus barrels there is a gunsmith in Colorado who provides that service. Trying to recommend someone who can refinish barrels in 3 months or less exceeds the knowledge I have.

Contact Breck Gorman of this board. His work and turnaround are superb.

I’ll second that ! He’s redone a set of DH barrels for me and fixed a rib situation on a Grade 0 4 frame . And granted I may have caught him
at a time when he had no backlog , but he had both barrels in and out to me in less then three weeks I think .
