I need a recommendation for a gunsmith near Colorado Springs. I can also drive to Denver if necessary. The top lever on my Trojan is flopping loose from side to side. Also, when I close the action the lever does not spring shut. I can manually close it. I’m assuming there is a spring in there somewhere that has either broken or come loose. Thanks in advance for your recommendations!

Send it to either Brad Bachelder or Brian Dudley. Both will have the parts and know how to fix it properly. I live in the Denver area and these two craftsmen are where my Parkers go if they need something I can't fix myself.

A very early trojan would have a V top lever spring. All others will have the later style coil spring/plunger setup. The issue you describe sounds like a broken top lever spring, and it is likely the earlier V-spring since the later style is not prone to breaking and if it were to break, it would keep working since it is completely housed in a tube of sorts.

Thanks! This one was was made in 1912 so it sounds like a v spring. I assumed it was something relatively simple, but I would much rather have a professional such as yourself look at it and fix it.
