Back in March I found 185509 SC 32" straight grip listed at a Eastern Canadian gun dealer for a bargain price and quickly called to find out the details. The gun was described as rough, no recoil pad, cracked forearm with lead inserts and a dented rib. After receiving a few pictures the description fit the gun perfectly....unfortunately. It was very rough and the wood had so much grime you could not make out any grain it might be hiding. Well me being the biggest Parker project sucker out there I bought it and had it sent directly to Chris Dawe. When he received it i got a call with him laughing at me specifically regarding the forearm. The lead weight consisted of two crudely chiseled out channels that had molten lead poured in them. I told him no problem you can fix that  Also the ejector was not working due some tinkering in the past from a backyard gunsmith.

Well 8 months later and everything is functional and looking good. Forearm fixed with wood inserts, ejector repaired, quick rust-blue touch up and and a wood refinish re-checker with silvers type pad instead of Hawkins. Look at the grain that was hiding under all that grime. Sadly enough i did not have any before pictures of this one!

Thanks to Chris for a job well done, another Parker saved from past and possibly future abuse had we not intervened!

Happy Sunday everyone!
