Ten years ago I, when I had just joined the PGCA, I met Jim DiSpagno on this very website. We developed a very close friendship that was the same as if we had lived just down the street. Jim became my mentor in all things Parker and thanks to him I was able to acquire some nice guns. Last night we finally got to meet face to face. He was even more gracious in person and his WONDERFUL wife Donna made Julia and I feel right at home. I hope we have many more get togethers in the coming years. Thank you Jim for being my friend. (Could someone turn this pic right side up?)

Jim DiSpagno is the tried and true definition of gentleman.

He is a great asset to the PGCA and our community.
I feel very privileged to know him and converse with him from time to time.

Please give him all my best.

Thank you again Mike your post is spot on.

Jim and I have great conversations over the phone, but our busy lives have kept us from being in the same place at the same time. Some day, we will meet.

Jim clearly has a lot of friends through the PGCA, and I am proud to count myself as one of them. I, too, look forward to the day I can shake his hand in person, and thank him for all the education over the time that I have known him.

I was reflecting that not only do we all enjoy collecting, shooting, and learning about these classic American shotguns, but what great joy there is in meeting a Forum Friend in person! I have met a number of people from this Forum over time, including Mike Franzen in this photo and many others, and have found each and every one to be a top-shelf gentleman, and one that I would be proud to stand alongside on a gun range or in a duck blind or in a river with a fly rod or in the thickest of grouse coverts. I'm delighted to say that I have been privileged to experience some of those things with my PGCA friends.

We are privileged by our association.

Dave
