I just had a gun shipped to me and I can’t get the barrel and the forend separated...I’ve never owned a beavertail before...is there something I’m missing or a trick to get them apart.
Thanks
Shawn

No Shawn, the beavertail comes off just like a splinter forend. Is the beavertail an original, have you checked the serialization book to see if it is original? Post the s/n and describe the gun and maybe we can determine if it is original.

Daryl thanks for your reply...it’s original...it’s an Ithaca NID .410. I can't get the forend to budge

Shawn, I'm not familiar with the Ithaca but try dry firing and then attempt to take it off.

I take it the forend is attached to the barrel and the barrel is not on the gun?
I have encountered this issue before with Ithacas and also a few Smiths. It is indeed tricky to get it off and difficult to describe the solution.

Exactly Brian. I finally got it after gently toying with it. I was pretty stressed for awhile! :cuss::banghead:
