I bought a TWO barell set 28 ga repro
One set perfect, the other the forarm wont
Go on, top lever really to the right
(Posting here because more readers)
Is there a fix i could do??, maybe a little filing
The seller probly made it a 2 barell set
With orphan barells
Or is this a job for professional? ?
Thanks in advance

Morning Pat ,these can be a little tricky if you haven't done it before ...so it may be best to have someone have a look ...from what you describe it wont take much .
Good Luck !

I have fit orphan barrels to guns and it takes great patience. With a kerosene lamp, a very fine diamond file and a steady hand it can be done. But it is a long, slow process.
The lever issue probably requires careful filing of the removable wear plate. Don't change the angle though.
But you're probably better off sending it to a smith who is well experienced in Parkers.

Yes, it sounds like the "set" was made up. Do the numbers match?
Repro barrels interchange pretty well with minimal fitting (compared to original guns).

Home gunsmith work consider risk vs cost. Fitting barrels high risk of messing up expensive part not easily replaced. Not expensive to have a good gunsmith do the job.

thanks for the advice, now checking, serial numbers don"t match
so I will send to expert for fitting. A super deal is not always super
but am still curious as to how they final fit. the dolls head fits perfect

Probably the hardest part of fitting a set of Parker barrels to another Parker is getting the doll's head to fit perfectly flush with the top of the breech when all is said and done.
A difference of only .002" above or below is noticable.

Any sets of repro barrels i have fit up to other repros needed just a little bit of work in a few key areas. All else was golden. The guns were pretty well built from a consistency standpoint.

Based upon the limited samples I've seen (from the viewpoint of a professional manufacturer) yes, that. Brian is spot-on..in fact, it's quite incredible. Tom Skeuse pulled off more than I think most realize.

You would be good to send it to Brian for him to fit it for you. We have seen several examples of his fine work.
