Ok, so I'm a sucker for a project gun, and saw a DHE that needs a good amount of TLC. Barrels are cut but I am wondering if anyone could see if 133638 is in the book. Would be interesting to see the original configuration.
New to the Parker world and don't have the serial book...
Thanks - Rob

Sorry Rob. That one isn't in the book. 130976-133787 are missing.

The order book with your gun apparently survives. A PGCA letter will probably give you the information you need.

If barrels are cut, it is hardly worth messing with, from a value standpoint.

If the price is right (read cheap) it might be worthwhile. Are the original barrels Damascus or fluid steel? Depending on gauge and frame size a set of barrels might not be that hard to find.

Fortunately for me, that's what the guy thought, who had a terrific 20ga DHE sent in to his local Cabelas from another store. He passed, the gun library manager stuck it in the corner, and I got it for a song. Apart from being one of my prettiest grade 3 guns, it is an absolutely wonderful grouse gun, in it's now 24" form.

I also have a cut 16 gauge, 24" DHE, bought it on this site. What a great gun.

Haven't purchased the gun yet, and realize that ultimately it wouldn't fetch the same amount of money as an unmolested DHE. But it also doesn't carry that price tag either. Plus, I'd like a functional ejector Parker to take out in the field and not have to be as concerned about damage. Only thing that concerns me is one of the ejectors is missing, so that may be the decision point, depending on availability of a replacement. It's a 2 frame 12 with fluid steel barrels so I'm sure there are some orphans out there for replacement. If I pick it up, I'll get the letter to see the original configuration.
It might be worth it to take a chance as it's under 1k. Like I said I'm a sucker for a project...
