Hello, My Name is Steve and I am looking to get more information as well as a value on a 1881 Parker Bros Shotgun that I am looking to sell for my friend who acquired this shotgun from his grandfather. I wanted to obtain all of the proper information before posting a thread in the for sale area of these forums so that I try to best adhere to the rules posted for that forum. I purchased a PGCA membership for the year in able to do so. The entire reason I did this was because this gun will be sold to benefit his Charity Organization that is partnered with Akron Children's Hospital(Ohio) for children who have undergone treatment for cancer. The organization is Project Outrun, for more information on the charity you can find them on Facebook and Instagram. I have added photos. The serial number is 24238(1881), but I am not sure of the gauge and material information due to wear. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Steve, it's a 10 gauge and is supposed to have 32" twist barrels. It's an "0" grade transition ( has a check hook ) lifter action. Can't tell frame size but measure firing pin to firing pin center to center.

You might find some one to take a chance at restoring
That would pay 200 dollars for it, the damaged stock
And its a 10 gauge, looks in very poor condition
Put it on an auction and see what it would bring

The gun is in horrible shape and would cost many times more than its worth to restore it. Unfortunately its a parts gun at best.

Steve, thank you for joining the PGCA. Although the news isn't good as to the value of the gun it will still generate some money for your charity. I would consider writing a description that included the charity info, take several clear photos and put it on GunBroker. You never know what it might bring. Keep us posted about what's happening with it. Best of luck.

Value is a couple hundred dollars for parts.

If you will measure the exact distance between the firing pins, we will be able to tell what the numeric frame size is. This may help the value.
