I am having trouble with the original butplate slipping on my shoulder , especially on high targets and true pairs. I do not want to replace it with a pad as it is a very nice high condition gun. I am considering: coating it with bees wax(old Marine marksman thing), replacing the BP with a thick pirce of leather. Any ideas? I do not like the look of a slip on pad as I already have a Berreta gell come riser on her.

Stick skateboard tape on the butt. Gun won't slide off your shoulder but it will wear on your shirt or vest.

buy some stick on floor grip. it looks like serious sandpaper that they use to make floors not so slick. DF uses it. places a piece 1inch by 1/2 inch at the top. sticks on great. does not mess up any finish or other on the gun
call him he can put you onto the correct material.
good luck.

David, use either moleskin or RTV silicone (available at Home Depot). Both will peel off and not harm the finish.

Yep, That's how you tell if Dave will sell it or not:rotf:

It's step tread tape - Lowes or Home Depot

I use fine grit orbital sanding paper with the self stick side. You can cut it 1" by 3" and it works well. It comes right off with not residual. It tends to be hard on your shooting shirt, if you shoot a lot. It will work on DHBP, SBP or rubber butt.

I use stickey backed tape used for non skid on boat decks, it is grounded up rubber and not sand so it is not so hard on your clothes. Carvel

Back in the day when I shot service rifle at Camp Perry, we used a spray adhesive on our shooting gloves and shoulder patches on the jacket. After a few times the mitts started to look like some form of roadkill of asphalt highway. But we were absolutely glued to that rifle. It never jumped out on you. I wouldn't use it on a Parker though

I wouldn't resort to making the butt totally immovable. A shotgun is supposed to slide easily against the shoulder but not to the extent you're describing. Glue a thin leather strip rough side out to the buttplate and be happy with it.

The leather rough side out is the best solution. I still use one on a K32 for skeet that I put on in 1965. Fail and fool proof!
